Experimenting with making the heart
I thought it would be easier to make the heart using a ready-made frame but I couldn't find one anywhere. I thought of making a frame out of a garden hose, but it would be very thin and may not show up well on the photographs. Then I found some plastic mesh and I thought if I twisted it into a spiral shape and fastened it together, then I could wrap the the red and white tape around the mesh spiral and bend it into a heart shape. I thought it was a very good idea but it was more difficult than I first thought. When I twisted the mesh into a spiral it wouldn't stay in place. So I tried to hold it in place with sellotape, rubber bands, sandwich bag ties and even hair grips to hold the mesh in place. Nothing worked so I thought I could wrap the tape around the plastic mesh as I made it into a spiral, and secure it with double-sided tape. This would keep the mesh in place. So I tried that and it took me a couple of hours but it worked. So now I have to bend the spirals into the shape of a heart. I expect this should be easier. I will upload images of this when it is finished.
